This is an exhibition of original paintings by the professional members of the National Academy of Professional Plein Air Painters(NAPPAP). Each year members of this national organization show their plein air and studio paintings usually developed from plain air studies in a group exhibit at a prestigious art gallery in the USA that represents one or more members of the group. Last year the exhibit was held at the Texas Art Gallery in Dallas, Texas.

LIVE MODEL QUICK STUDY PORTRAITURE/FIGURE WORKSHOP Location: Gallery 4, Placerville, CA Event Dates: 1/5/2009 - 2/1/2009
Mike Bagdonas will be teaching this portraiture/figure live model quick study workshop five consecutive Mondays beginning on January 5, 2009 and ending on February 1, 2009. The workshop will begin each day at 10AM and end at 2:30PM. Each of the first three sessions Mike will be demonstrating one of three methods to paint these quick studies using an alla prima technique (wet paint into wet paint). These three methods are as follows:
A monochrome(transparent) block-in;
A line and mass lock-in;
A modified line/mass block-in on a mid-value toned canvas.
Mike will also spend one morning demonstrating a palette knife(painting knife) live model quick study technique.
